Once there were two boys, Ratan and Madan. Ratan was the topper all throughout his school and college life whereas Madan barely passed in every class.
After they completed their education, Ratan was hired by a multinational company for the post of a manager but since Madan’s academic credentials were not as appealing as that of Ratan, he was hired as a salesman by the same company. Though Ratan was a highly qualified individual, his thought process was very different from that of Madan.
On one hand, Ratan didn’t do anything except what his company asked for while Madan travelled around the city, meeting people and forming contacts. He improved his communication skills and operated in teams which helped him to keep a track of his progress as well as of his contribution to the success of his team members. This helped develop a shared sense of responsibility within him.
After a few years of working in the company, he resigned only to begin his own business. Until then he had built a strong foothold in his market segment. All the customers whom Madan served while he worked in his previous company, began trusting him more than the multinational company. Soon, Madan’s business skyrocketed and he became a millionaire while Ratan still worked as a manager.
MORAL: THE SUCCESSFUL ONES ARE NOT THE TOPPERS BUT THOSE WHO KNOW HOW TO WORK IN TEAMS AND MORE IMPORTANTLY HAVE GOOD COMMUNICATION SKILLS
