Once upon a time in the Amazon forest, it so happened that the tall trees which formed the canopy didn’t allow sunlight and rain drops to reach the shorter plants that grew on the ground. Moreover, they also had very long roots that stretched deep inside the ground due to which they absorbed all the rich nutrients present in the soil, leaving nothing for the shorter plants.
Day by day, the short trees began to die and many species went extinct. Thus the sunlight, rain drops and the nutrients in the soil decided to teach the tall trees a lesson that they would remember all throughout their life.
The sunlight didn’t allow itself to be absorbed by the leaves of the trees and the rain drops on the other hand slipped away from their surface. Also, the nutrients in the soil didn’t allow themselves to be absorbed by the deep roots due to which the tall trees were not able to process their own food.
Therefore after a few days, the tall trees began losing energy. All of them realized their mistake and collectively apologized to the sunlight, rain and the nutrients for their insensitive behavior towards the short trees on the ground. They promised to give them their rightful share and lived happily ever after.
